Standard Duty Vinyl Tarp

This white vinyl tarp is built for general-purpose coverage where a waterproof, flame-resistant sheet is required. The finished dimensions measure 19 ft by 19 ft 6 in, cut from a 20 x 20 ft sheet, and the material weighs 13 oz per square yard at 15 mil thickness.

Sustained Exposure Performance

Brass grommets spaced every 24 inches along rope-reinforced, single-stitched edges allow secure tie-down in wind. The vinyl resists UV degradation, mildew and tearing during extended outdoor use, and the waterproof coating prevents moisture penetration throughout prolonged rain or snow cover.

Replaces Light-Duty Poly Sheets

This tarp upgrades from lightweight polyethylene covers that degrade quickly under sun and wind. The jump is worth it when a job demands a flame-resistant, tear-resistant barrier that stays flexible in cold weather and does not need frequent replacement. Buyers who need a breathable canvas or a heavy-duty industrial grade should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 15 mil vinyl tarp absorb heat and become too hot to handle after sitting in the sun all day?

The white vinyl reflects sunlight and the 15 mil thickness insulates the surface, so it stays cooler than darker tarps during extended daytime exposure.

What do I need to secure the brass grommets spaced every 24 inches along the 19 ft 6 in edges?

You will need rope, bungee cords or zip ties to thread through the brass grommets and anchor the tarp to a frame or tie-down points.

Can I layer this standard-duty 13 oz vinyl tarp over an older poly tarp without trapping moisture between them?

The waterproof vinyl layer blocks rain, but because the material is not breathable, any dampness on the older tarp underneath will be trapped unless you ventilate the edges.
