Swivel Plate Caster 6 in 1200 lb

This Value Brand swivel plate caster uses a cast-iron wheel and core rated for 1200 lb. The 6 in diameter and 2 in width suit heavy carts and wheelbarrows. Non-marking tread protects finished floors during moves.

No brake or swivel lock included

The caster ships without a brake mechanism or swivel lock, so the wheel rotates and swivels freely at all times. Builders must add external stops or choose a different model when stationary positioning is required.

Handles 1200 lb on smooth hard surfaces

The iron wheel rolls best on concrete, pavers or shop floors where debris is minimal. Soft ground, deep gravel or thresholds quickly exceed the practical capacity and accelerate wear.

Questions about this item

Does the iron wheel need lubrication or replacement after heavy 1200 lb loads?

The cast iron wheel and core are built for durability; inspect the swivel bearings periodically and grease them if they stiffen, but no scheduled wheel replacement is required.

What stops the caster from rolling when the cart is fully loaded to 1200 lb?

This model has no brake and no swivel lock, so it will keep rolling on any slope unless you add external chocks or a separate locking caster.

How much heat or noise does the iron tread generate during all-day use on concrete?

Iron-on-concrete contact produces noticeable rolling noise and slight heat buildup, but no motor or powered components are present to add extra heat.
