Zoro Select Swivel Plate Caster

This Zoro Select swivel plate caster mounts to carts, dollies or light equipment using a standard top plate. The wheel measures 4 inches in diameter and 1 1/4 inches wide with a polyolefin tread on a plastic core. A side pedal brake locks the wheel when engaged. The unit is non-marking and rated for a 195 lb load capacity.

Wheelbarrow and Cart Mobility Upgrade

It suits anyone repairing or building a wheelbarrow, garden cart or utility wagon that needs a single swivel caster with a side brake. Buyers who need a fixed rigid caster, a total-lock brake that also stops the swivel, or a higher load rating should look at other models.

195 lb Load Rating with Side Pedal Brake

The 195 lb load rating is the key figure that determines whether this caster can support your cart or wheelbarrow when fully loaded. The side pedal brake provides wheel-only locking, so the swivel action remains free when the brake is off. Select this caster if the load and brake type match your requirements.

Questions about this item

Will the 198 lb rating hold a loaded garden cart on rough ground?

The caster is rated at 195 lb; on rough terrain the effective capacity drops, so keep total load below that figure.

Does the 4 in wheel fit the standard 2-3/8 in by 3-5/8 in mounting plate on my wagon?

The plate follows the common 2-3/8 in by 3-5/8 in bolt pattern, so it bolts straight onto most wagons and carts.

What clearance do I need above the plate for the side pedal brake to swing?

Allow roughly 2 in of vertical space above the plate so the side pedal brake can engage without hitting the frame.
