Wheelbarrow caster wheel 145 lb load

This wheel fits standard wheelbarrows and utility carts that accept a 5 in diameter and 1 in width. It is rated for loads up to 145 lb and suits replacements where the original wheel has worn or gone flat.

Installation and common issues

The wheel uses a 5/16 in axle size and includes a spanner bushing for fitment. No tools beyond basic hand tools are typically required, but the bushing must be seated fully to prevent wobble. Soft 85 Shore A rubber can deform under sustained heavy loads.

Practical limits of the rubber tread

The soft rubber compound provides cushioning on rough ground but wears faster on abrasive surfaces such as concrete or asphalt. It is not non-marking, so it may leave residue on indoor floors. The 145 lb rating is the maximum; exceeding it risks core failure or tread separation.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the caster wheel is rolling smoothly after installation?

Spin the wheel by hand and check that it turns freely without binding; the 85 Shore A rubber tread should give a quiet, even roll under load.

What components come with the caster wheel and what must I supply?

The wheel includes a plastic core, rubber tread, and a spanner bushing; you must provide the 5/16 in axle and mounting hardware.

Which load-rating version should I choose for my cart?

Select this 145 lb model if your loaded cart weight per wheel stays at or below 145 lb; it covers the 0 to 299 lb range.
