General Utility Nylon Rope

This white nylon rope is a general purpose utility line built with a 12 strand solid braid construction. It measures 5/16 in diameter and comes on a 500 ft reel. The rope offers a tensile strength of 1,931 lb and a working load limit of 193 lb for various tasks.

Handling And Installation Notes

The solid braid design prevents unravelling and feeds smoothly off the supplied reel during deployment. Users should inspect the full length for abrasions before relying on the 193 lb working load limit. Knots will reduce the effective strength below the rated tensile figure of 1,931 lb.

Pre Purchase Compatibility Checks

Verify that a 5/16 in diameter fits your cleats, pulleys or winch drums before ordering. Confirm the 500 ft length matches the required run plus termination allowances. Ensure the 193 lb working load limit covers the maximum anticipated dynamic load with an adequate safety factor.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 12-strand solid braid is holding its 193 lb working load after I rig it?

Apply a known test weight up to 193 lb and watch for elongation or slippage; the solid braid should stay firm with no core movement.

What does the reel contain and what must I supply myself?

The reel holds 500 ft of 5/16 in white nylon rope with 12-strand solid braid construction; you provide any terminations, thimbles or hardware you need.

When should I choose the 5/16 in diameter over a different size?

Select this 5/16 in diameter when your load calculations call for a 193 lb working load limit and 1,931 lb tensile strength in a 500 ft reel.
