Rigid Plate Caster Iron 5 in 1000 lb

This rigid plate caster uses a solid iron wheel to support heavy carts and wheelbarrows. The fixed design keeps equipment tracking straight under a 1000 lb load rating. It suits workshops, warehouses and outdoor yards where frequent turning is not required.

Thermals noise and power draw

The iron wheel produces no motor heat and draws no electricity during use. Rolling noise comes only from the hard tread contacting the floor surface. No brake or swivel lock is fitted, so the caster runs freely without added friction or mechanical drag.

Build fit and clearance

A flat mounting plate bolts directly to the equipment frame with standard hardware. The 5 in diameter and 2 in width fit existing wheelbarrow or cart axles without modification. Non‑marking tread protects finished floors while the rigid housing frees up swivel space for adjacent casters.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the 5 in rigid plate caster and what step is often missed?

Bolt the top plate through its four holes using hardware rated for the 1000 lb load rating; the step often missed is confirming the mounting surface is flat and rigid enough to prevent the plate from flexing under full load.

What maintenance or replacement will this caster need over time?

Inspect the iron tread and core regularly for cracks or flat spots; replace the entire caster if the wheel shows structural damage because the unit has no brake or swivel lock to service separately.

What limit appears first when the caster runs continuously at heavy loads?

The 1000 lb load rating is the primary limit; exceeding it risks permanent deformation of the iron wheel or mounting plate, and the Proposition 65 warning indicates chemical exposure risk during prolonged handling.
