Swivel Plate Caster 8 in Load Rating

The Value Brand swivel plate caster uses a cast iron wheel that measures eight inches in diameter and two inches wide. A plate mount allows direct bolting to carts or wheelbarrows. The single wheel carries a load rating of 1250 lb and is marked as non‑marking.

No Brake No Lock Plate Mount

The unit ships without a brake or swivel lock so the wheel rotates and pivots freely at all times. This suits applications where constant mobility is needed and manual locking is unnecessary. California Proposition 65 warnings apply because the product contains listed chemicals.

Heavy Duty Carts No Brake Needed

Builders equipping heavy carts or wheelbarrows that require a durable iron wheel will find the 1250 lb capacity suitable. Buyers who need a brake for parking on slopes or a swivel lock for straight line tracking should look at a different caster model.

Questions about this item

Will the iron wheel or swivel bearing need grease or replacement parts over time?

The wheel and core are solid iron with no separate tread, so there is no rubber to wear out; the swivel race is sealed and not designed for field lubrication.

What stops the caster from rolling when a full 1250 lb load is applied?

This model has no brake and no swivel lock, so the only resistance comes from the swivel bearing friction and the iron wheel rolling on the floor surface.

Does the iron wheel get hot or noisy when the cart runs all day on concrete?

Iron-on-concrete contact creates noticeable rolling noise and can transmit vibration; the wheel itself does not generate heat, but the lack of a resilient tread means every impact is felt.
