Swivel Plate Caster for Wheelbarrows and Carts

This swivel plate caster is built for wheelbarrows and utility carts that need a single replacement wheel. It mounts on a flat plate and swivels freely for easy steering. The polyurethane tread on a polyolefin core is non-marking on finished floors. It ships new and ready to install.

Upgrade from worn or fixed wheels

Replace a cracked, flat or seized wheel that makes the cart hard to push or steer. The jump is worth it when the old caster no longer swivels or the tread has separated from the core. A new caster restores smooth movement and full load capacity without replacing the whole cart.

Load and tread limits

The caster is rated for 350 lb so it cannot support heavier equipment or stacked materials beyond that figure. The standard polyurethane tread shape suits general use but is not designed for high-speed towing or continuous powered conveyors. California Proposition 65 warnings apply because the product contains listed chemicals.

Questions about this item

What plate size and bolt pattern does this 4 in caster need for mounting?

The caster uses a standard top-plate mount; drill holes to match the plate corners and bolt it securely to the frame.

How do I install the swivel plate caster and what step is often missed?

Bolt the plate to a flat, rigid surface, then verify the wheel spins freely; the common miss is not tightening all four bolts evenly.

When should the polyurethane wheel on this 350 lb caster be replaced?

Replace the wheel when the tread shows deep cuts, flat spots, or the polyolefin core becomes visible through the polyurethane.
