5-inch Rubber Swivel Stem Caster

This ZORO SELECT caster fits wheelbarrows and carts with a 1-1/4 in x 4 in square stem. It carries up to 240 lb per wheel and is sold new for replacement or custom builds.

Plain-bearing wheel with steel frame

The rubber tread rolls on a plain bearing inside a zinc-plated steel frame. Mounting height is 6 5/32 in, and the wheel width is 1 1/4 in for stable, quiet movement on hard surfaces.

Brake-equipped stem mount

A built-in swivel brake locks the wheel when engaged. No additional hardware or lubrication is included, so installers supply their own fasteners and maintenance supplies.

Questions about this item

How do I fit the 1-1/4 in x 4 in square stem into my equipment, and what step is often missed?

Insert the square stem fully into the matching socket and secure it with the correct bolt or pin; the step often missed is tightening the retaining fastener enough to stop the stem from rotating under load.

What part of this caster will need replacement first with regular use?

The rubber wheel tread will wear down before the steel frame or zinc plating, so plan to replace the wheel once the tread is smooth or cracked.

At what load does the 240 lb rating become the limiting factor during sustained use?

The 240 lb load rating is the first limit reached; exceeding it risks premature wheel deformation or frame bending even if the stem still fits.
