Rigid Plate Caster for Yard Equipment

The ZORO SELECT 4W922 is a rigid plate caster designed for wheelbarrows and carts used in outdoor work. It supports a load rating of 200 lb with a 5 in wheel diameter. The wheel uses a rubber tread on a polyolefin core. This caster does not swivel and includes no brake or swivel lock mechanism.

Load Capacity and Surface Limits

The 200 lb load rating defines the maximum weight this caster can carry safely. The rubber tread is non-marking to protect finished floors during indoor moves. However, the tread shape is standard and the core is polyolefin, so rough terrain or sharp debris may reduce service life. The caster is restricted from sale in certain states due to chemical content warnings.

Simple Plate Mounting With Fixed Orientation

Installation requires bolting the rigid plate to the equipment frame using the pre-drilled holes. Because the caster does not swivel, alignment must be accurate before tightening to avoid tracking issues. No brake hardware is included, so the unit cannot lock the wheel. The missing swivel lock means directional changes rely entirely on the equipment design.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 5 inch wheel or a different size for my cart?

This model has a 5 inch wheel diameter and a 1 1/4 inch tread width. Check your cart's mounting plate and clearance to match these dimensions.

What does the 200 lb load rating mean when the caster is installed?

The 200 lb rating is the maximum capacity for this single rigid caster. Total cart capacity depends on the number of casters used and how evenly the load is distributed.

How does the plate mounting and lack of brake affect installation and use?

The rigid plate caster bolts to a flat surface and does not swivel. It has no brake or swivel lock, so the wheel rolls freely in a straight line only.
