12 ft Toslink Optical Audio Cable

The Vanco ADT12X is a 12 ft fiber optic cable with Toslink male connectors at each end. It carries digital audio between compatible source devices and amplifiers, soundbars or DACs. The black jacket suits typical home-theatre or desktop routing.

Installation kits needing IR distribution support

The supplied connecting block, mini IR receiver, two single IR emitters and 12 VDC power supply form a kit that relays infrared commands from up to six emitters to one receiver. Buyers who only require a passive optical audio link without any IR repeating hardware should look at a plain cable instead.

Toslink male connectors and IR frequency range

Each end terminates in a standard Toslink male plug for digital audio transmission. The IR system receives at 34 kHz to 60 kHz and transmits at 38 kHz and 56 kHz, with a range of 40 ft at 38 kHz and 25 ft at 56 kHz.

Questions about this item

What devices need a Toslink input for this 12 ft cable to connect?

Any source and sink with a square Toslink port — soundbars, AV receivers, TVs, game consoles or DACs — will accept the male connectors on both ends.

Will the 12 ft length reach gear on an older rack that sits farther away?

At 12 ft the cable spans typical rack-to-TV distances; the fibre carries light so signal quality does not degrade with age of the connected equipment.

How can I confirm the link is passing audio after plugging it in?

Red light visible at each Toslink tip means the optical path is live; play a test tone and verify sound from the receiving device.
