Five-Port USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Add-On Card

This Vantec PCI Express card adds five USB ports to a desktop system through a PCIe x4 slot. It provides two USB Type-C ports and three USB Type-A ports on a single full-height bracket. The card delivers up to 20Gbps bandwidth per the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 specification.

Builders needing multiple high-speed USB ports

This card suits users who want to connect several USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 devices simultaneously using a single expansion slot. It is not for systems that lack a free PCIe x4 slot or for buyers who require internal storage connectors instead of external USB ports.

PCIe Gen3 x2 link to five ports

The card links a PCI Express 3.0 x2 interface from the bus to all five ports, giving each port a theoretical 10Gbps maximum. All three Type-A ports support Battery Charging 1.2 at 1.5A per port for powered devices.

Questions about this item

What free PCI Express slot is required to install this card?

A PCIe x4 slot is needed because the card uses a PCIe x4 interface linked to PCIe Gen3 x2 lanes for its five USB ports.

Will my existing USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 devices work with the three Type-A and two Type-C ports?

Yes, all five ports are backward compatible with USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices.

How can I verify the card is delivering the advertised 20Gbps link speed after installation?

Check the operating system device manager or lsusb output to confirm the controller enumerates at USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 20Gbps and test with a UASP-capable drive to see transfer rates approaching 10Gbps per port.
