Ready-to-game desktop

The Velztorm Orix is a pre-built gaming desktop powered by an Intel Core i9-12900K processor with 16 cores and 24 threads, paired with a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics card. It ships with 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB SATA SSD, running Windows 10 Home on an 850W power supply.

Who this suits

Buyers who want a complete system for 1440p gaming and multitasking without assembling parts will find the 12th Gen CPU and 8GB GDDR6 GPU combination effective. It is not for buyers who need an M.2 PCIe boot drive, additional internal 3.5-inch drive bays, or a newer operating system out of the box.

Deciding specification

The 1TB SATA SSD uses the AHCI protocol over an M.2 connector, delivering SATA speeds rather than PCIe throughput, which determines boot and load performance for this build.

Questions about this item

Does the Velztorm Orix arrive with a monitor, keyboard and mouse, or must those be purchased separately?

The system ships without a display, keyboard or mouse; you will need to supply your own peripherals.

The listing shows only a 1 TB SATA SSD — is there room to add a second drive later?

The chassis and motherboard have additional internal bays and M.2 slots, so a second SSD or HDD can be installed without removing the original 1 TB SATA drive.

With the i9-12900K and RTX 3060 Ti, what frame rates can I expect at 1440p in current titles?

The 16-core processor and 8 GB GDDR6 GPU deliver playable 1440p performance in most modern games, especially when paired with the 32 GB DDR5 memory and 850 W power supply.
