Velztorm Orix i9-12900K desktop

The Velztorm Orix is a gaming desktop built around a 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900K processor with 16 cores and 24 threads. It includes 32GB of DDR5 memory and a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics card with 8GB GDDR6. The system ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit installed.

850W PSU and 360mm AIO cooling

An 850W power supply feeds the components while a 360mm AIO liquid cooler with RGB lighting manages CPU thermals. Connectivity covers 802.11 a/b/n/ac/ax Wi-Fi and a 2.5Gbps RJ-45 LAN port. Video output uses one HDMI and one DisplayPort; USB includes Type-A and Type-C ports across 2.0, 3.0, 3.1 Gen2 and 3.2 Gen2 standards.

4TB PCIe NVMe storage upgrade

The 4TB PCIe NVMe SSD replaces smaller or mechanical drives, cutting load times for large game libraries and content-creation projects. Buyers who want more storage than 4TB or who need a second graphics card for multi-GPU workloads should look elsewhere. The jump is worth it when a single high-capacity NVMe drive and 32GB DDR5 cover the working set.

Questions about this item

What PCIe generation does the RTX 3060 Ti graphics card use, and what bandwidth limit does that set?

The card runs on PCIe 4.0, which caps the link at 16 GT/s per lane and gives the GPU its full 8 GB GDDR6 memory bandwidth.

What clearance does the 360 mm AIO liquid cooler require inside the chassis?

The cooler uses a 360 mm radiator that fits a standard three-fan mounting area on the top or front of the case.

How is the 4 TB PCIe NVMe SSD installed, and what step is often missed?

The drive is pre-installed in an M.2 slot on the motherboard; the step many users miss is initialising and formatting the volume in Windows Disk Management before use.
