Velztorm Pilum Gaming Desktop

The Velztorm Pilum is a pre-built gaming desktop assembled around an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X eight-core processor running at 3.6 GHz with a 4.4 GHz boost, 32 GB of DDR4 memory and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory. Storage combines a 1 TB SATA SSD and a 2 TB hard drive. A 750 W power supply and a 120 mm liquid CPU cooler complete the core hardware.

Suited for high-refresh 1440p play

This system suits players who want high frame rates at 1440p resolution in current titles and need 32 GB of memory for streaming or content creation alongside gaming. Buyers who require more than 32 GB of RAM, a larger solid-state volume or a newer processor architecture should look at other configurations.

Deciding spec: RTX 3070 8 GB GDDR6

The GeForce RTX 3070 with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory is the single component that determines whether this desktop meets a buyer's performance target. It delivers the rasterisation and ray-tracing throughput needed for 1440p ultra settings; if a workload demands more video memory or a higher tier, this is not the right part.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 32GB DDR4 option or upgrade to 64GB for this Pilum desktop?

The 32GB DDR4 DIMM suits most gaming and multitasking workloads; choose 64GB only if you run heavy content-creation or virtualization tasks that regularly exceed 32GB.

What does the Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6GHz up to 4.4GHz 8-core processor deliver in this system?

Eight cores at 3.6GHz base and 4.4GHz boost handle modern games and productivity apps smoothly, backed by 32MB L3 cache for responsive multitasking.
