Ready-to-game desktop

The Velztorm Pilum ships as a complete Windows 10 Pro system built around an eight-core Ryzen 7 3700X and a GeForce RTX 3050 with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory. It targets buyers who want a working gaming rig without assembling parts or installing an operating system.

Step up from entry-level

Replacing a basic office tower or an older pre-built with integrated graphics, this configuration adds a discrete GPU and 128 GB of DDR4 memory. The jump makes sense when the workload includes 1080p gaming, light content creation or multitasking that exceeds 16 GB or 32 GB kits.

Build foundation

A 750 W power supply and an included 120 mm AIO liquid cooler support the installed components. One 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD handles the OS and active projects while a 2 TB 3.5-inch HDD stores bulk data. Front and rear I/O provide USB 3.1 Gen1, five USB 3.0 Type-A, four USB 2.0, HDMI and DisplayPort for monitor connections.

Questions about this item

What case dimensions and PSU rating must a replacement chassis accommodate for this Velztorm Pilum?

The system measures 8.65 IN x 17 IN x 19.4 IN and uses a 750W power supply, so any replacement chassis must fit those dimensions and support that PSU rating.

How is the 120mm AIO liquid CPU cooler mounted, and what step do builders often miss?

The 120mm AIO cooler mounts to the case fan location with its radiator and fans; the step often missed is connecting the pump header to the motherboard CPU_FAN connector so the pump runs at full speed.

Which storage drives will need replacement first and what capacities does this Pilum currently use?

The 2TB 3.5 HDD will likely need replacement before the 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD due to mechanical wear; the system currently uses those exact capacities.
