Venus Optics Laowa 24mm f/14 2X Macro Probe Lens with Built-In Ring Light for Canon RF

SKU CH-SQKX-YYSQ1

A 24 mm probe lens for Canon RF that focuses from 2× macro to infinity with a built-in LED ring light

  • Get extremely close with 2x magnification at 24mm focal length
  • Keep more of tiny subjects sharp using the f/14 aperture
  • Light macro scenes evenly with the built-in adjustable ring light
  • Reach into tight spaces thanks to the long probe barrel design
  • Shoot wide-angle macro on 35mm full-frame or Super35 sensors

Unique probe perspective

The Laowa 24mm f/14 2X Macro Probe Lens mounts on Canon RF cameras and delivers a distinctive 'Bug Eye' view. Its 24mm focal length combines 2x magnification with a wide-angle field, letting photographers reach tight spaces while showing surrounding context. The waterproof barrel enables underwater and outdoor macro work that standard lenses cannot attempt.

f/14 aperture and depth of field

The fixed f/14 aperture maximises depth of field at close distances, keeping more of tiny subjects sharp across the frame. This design suits detail-focused macro where background context matters, but the small aperture demands strong lighting or longer exposures. Low-light handheld shooting is limited without supplemental illumination.

Built-in LED ring light

An adjustable LED ring at the lens tip provides even, shadow-free light directly on the subject. It solves the classic macro problem of the lens blocking ambient light at 2x magnification. The light runs from an external battery pack via a cable, so users must carry that extra unit for the illumination to function.

Questions about this item

Will the 24mm focal length and Canon RF mount work with my existing full-frame EOS R body and EF-to-RF adapter?

The lens is designed for Canon RF mount and covers standard 35mm full-frame sensors, so it mounts directly on an EOS R body without an adapter.

How can I verify the built-in ring light is functioning correctly after attaching the lens?

Power the LED ring light via its external battery pack and observe even illumination at the probe tip; adjustable brightness confirms proper operation.

Does the package include the external power source for the ring light, or must I purchase it separately?

The lens ships with the probe lens body and built-in ring light; an external battery pack for the LEDs is sold separately.
