Outdoor PoE Extender for IP Cameras

The Veracity VOR-ORM-XT extends Ethernet and Power over Ethernet connections beyond the standard 328 feet limit. It is built for installers who need to place outdoor IP cameras or wireless transmitters at distances up to 200 metres from the network switch. The unit requires no configuration and works immediately with conventionally terminated Cat 5e or Cat 6 cables.

Sustained Power Delivery

Under continuous load the extender forwards up to 75 watts depending on the PoE standard used, drawing only 1.3 watts for its own operation. It supplies a maximum of 0.7 amps on data pairs and 1.5 amps on spare pairs while maintaining an IP66 and IP67 rated enclosure that operates across an extended temperature range. Multiple units can be chained to add 100 metres per unit without signal degradation.

Upgrade from Standard Cable Runs

This device replaces the need for intermediate network switches or mid-span injectors in outdoor runs where weatherproofing is required. The jump is worth it when cable routes exceed 328 feet and the installation demands a rugged enclosure with simple bolt-on mounting rather than an indoor box in a separate weatherproof housing. It also supports links to non-PoE equipment when paired with the compatible OUTREACH Lite XT model.

Questions about this item

How much power does the VOR-ORM-XT itself draw while running continuously outdoors?

The unit consumes 1.3 watts from the PoE input while forwarding up to 75 watts to the connected device.

What cabling and PoE source are required to make this extender operate?

It works with conventionally terminated Cat 5e or Cat 6 cables and any PoE source compliant with IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at or custom PoE up to 75 watts.

Will the IP66-rated enclosure protect the extender when mounted alongside older non-PoE network gear?

Yes, the rugged IP66/IP67 NEMA 4X/6P housing shields the unit in external conditions, and a separate OUTREACH Lite XT model can link to non-PoE equipment.
