Write-once CD-R media

Verbatim 94949 discs provide 700MB or 80 minutes of write-once storage on a 52X rated CD-R. The 50-disc spindle uses AZO recording dye for broad drive compatibility and long archival life. Thermal printable surfaces accept colour thermal printers for direct disc labelling. Suitable for data backup, audio mastering or software distribution.

Thermal printable archival discs

Users who need permanent records and on-disc graphics using a thermal printer will match this media. The write-once format prevents accidental erasure, making it unsuited for rotating backups or reusable transport. Buyers who want rewritable media or inkjet printable surfaces should look at something else.

52X write speed rating

The single specification that decides fit is the 52X maximum write speed; the host recorder must support this speed to achieve the rated performance. Drives limited to lower speeds will write more slowly but remain compatible.

Questions about this item

Does the 50-pack spindle include 94949 discs ready for thermal printing, or do I need a separate printable surface?

The spindle holds 50 Verbatim 94949 CD-R discs with a white thermal-printable surface, so they can be labelled directly in a compatible thermal disc printer without extra media.

Should I choose the 700 MB 52X version or a different capacity for 80-minute audio projects?

The 700 MB / 80-minute capacity matches standard CD-R length, and the 52X maximum write speed is supported by drives rated up to 52X, making this version suitable for full-length audio or data discs.

Will a drive rated for 52X actually write these discs at 52X, or does the AZO layer limit real-world speed?

The discs are rated for 52X maximum write speed and use AZO recording dye; a drive that supports 52X CD-R writing can record at that speed, while slower drives will write at their own maximum rated speed.
