Verbatim 25GB BD-R Spindle Pack

The Verbatim 98397 spindle contains 50 single-layer BD-R discs, each offering 25GB of write-once capacity. They are intended for users who need permanent, offline archives of high-definition video, audio or data. The write-once format prevents accidental erasure or overwriting of stored content.

16x Recording Speed Stability

Rated at 16x maximum write speed, these discs maintain consistent performance across the full 25GB surface during extended recording sessions. The constant linear velocity strategy avoids the slowdowns typical of early-layer bursts, so long-form 1080p captures complete without buffer underruns or speed stepping.

HardCoat Surface and Spindle Storage

HardCoat protective layer resists scratches, fingerprints and dust that cause read errors on unprotected media. The 50-disc spindle keeps blanks organised and shielded from handling damage until they are needed, supporting reliable daily use in both home and professional archiving workflows.

Questions about this item

How much heat or power does the 16x BD-R disc draw when the drive runs all day?

The disc itself is passive media and draws no power or generates no heat; only the Blu-ray writer consumes electricity and produces warmth during extended write sessions.

What drive must I already own to record on these 25GB BD-R discs?

You need a Blu-ray writer that supports BD-R media at up to 16x speed; a standard DVD writer or CD burner cannot record on these discs.

Can I read the finished 98397 discs in an older DVD player or CD drive?

No — BD-R discs require a Blu-ray compatible drive; legacy DVD players and CD drives cannot read the 25GB Blu-ray format.
