The Verbatim Vi5000 1TB is an internal solid-state drive built for consumer workloads. It uses the M.2 2280 form factor and connects through a PCIe 4.0 interface with NVMe protocol. Sequential reads reach up to 5000 MBps and writes up to 4500 MBps. Random performance hits 645000 IOPS read and 725000 IOPS write.

PCIe 4.0 x4 lane bandwidth ceiling

The drive operates on the PCIe 4.0 standard, so its peak throughput depends on a platform that can supply four lanes of generation 4 bandwidth. On older chipsets limited to PCIe 3.0 the same drive will still function but sequential speeds will drop to the older generation ceiling. The rated endurance is 500TB written over the drive life.
