Task lighting for desk and bench work

The Verilux ZLC612 is a clamp-mounted LED accent light built for indoor tasks such as reading, crafting, drafting or video calls. Its 159 LEDs produce 800 lumens at 7.5 watts, and the 5-point adjustable arm extends 15.8 inches plus 10.2 inches with a 6.3-inch wide head to cover large work areas.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The LED array runs at 5 volts and draws 7.5 watts, so heat output stays low during extended sessions. No moving parts are present, meaning the lamp operates silently. Energy consumption is reduced by 80 percent compared with traditional bulbs, and the unit carries a 1-year warranty.

Touch control timer and USB power

A touch switch cycles through five colour temperatures from 1700K to 6000K and ten brightness levels, while a built-in timer allows automatic shut-off. The lamp ships with a USB adapter so it can be powered from a wall outlet, monitor hub or portable battery without an extra cable.

Questions about this item

How do I clamp the 15.8 inch and 10.2 inch arm sections to a desk edge without the lamp tipping?

Open the clamp wide enough for the desk thickness, tighten the screw until the base cannot rock, then extend both arm segments fully before positioning the 6.3 inch head so its weight stays centred over the clamp.

When will the 159 LED beads or the USB power adapter need replacement?

The LEDs are rated for long life and are not user-replaceable; if output drops noticeably after years of use, replace the whole unit. The USB adapter can be swapped for any 5 V supply that delivers at least 7.5 W.

At the 6000 K maximum colour temperature and full brightness, how long before the lamp head becomes too hot to touch?

The 7.5 W LED array runs cool; even at 800 lumens and 6000 K the head stays warm but safe to handle during continuous operation.
