1-1/2" Square Handrail End Cap

This black plastic end cap fits square handrail profiles measuring 1-1/2 inches. It provides a clean termination point for railing systems in garden and outdoor settings. The Vestil accessory installs without specialised tools and protects cut rail ends from moisture ingress and sharp edges. Listed by the manufacturer on 12 November 2020.

Outdoor handrail finishing for square profiles

Suitable for property owners and contractors completing square handrail runs on decks, paths or garden steps. The cap covers a single rail end and matches black powder-coated or painted metal sections. Builders needing caps for round tubing, rectangular rails or larger cross-sections must source a different profile-specific fitting.

1-1/2 inch square handrail shape compatibility

The decisive specification is the square handrail shape sized at 1-1/2 inches, which must match the installed rail exactly. No other dimension or profile will seat correctly, so verify the rail cross-section before ordering. This single parameter determines whether the cap functions as intended.

Questions about this item

How is the 1-1/2" square plastic end cap installed on a handrail, and what step is often missed?

The cap slides over the square tube end; the step often missed is ensuring the rail is cut square and deburred so the cap seats fully without rocking.

What maintenance or replacement will the black plastic end cap need over time?

UV exposure can cause fading or brittleness; inspect annually and replace the cap if cracks appear or the fit loosens.

What limit appears first on the plastic end cap under sustained outdoor use?

The material becomes brittle from UV exposure, leading to cracking or loss of grip on the handrail.
