Purpose & Audience

This 50-foot extension cord connects a generator to a bare-wire termination, delivering up to 50 amps at 110 volts for 12500 watts of power. It suits homeowners, RV owners or job-site crews who need a heavy-duty link between a NEMA 14-50P outlet and a transfer switch or distribution panel.

Bundled Extras

A reusable storage strap keeps the 50-foot length coiled neatly when not in use. The moulded ergonomic grip on the plug eases insertion and removal, reducing strain on the connector during frequent connect and disconnect cycles.

Pre-Installation Checks

Verify that your generator or inlet provides a NEMA 14-50P receptacle rated for 50 amps. Confirm the installation environment stays within the -40 °F to 140 °F operating range and that the IP44 splash protection meets local code for outdoor use. Ensure the bare-wire ends can be terminated safely inside an approved enclosure by a qualified electrician.

Questions about this item

Will the 6 AWG copper conductors or the 8 AWG ground wire need replacement after repeated outdoor use?

The STW-rated jacket resists moisture and sunlight from -40 °F to 140 °F, so the conductors themselves should not require replacement under normal conditions.

What limits continuous 50 A operation on this 50 ft cord?

At 110 V the 50 ft run reaches the 12500 W rating, so voltage drop on the 6 AWG conductors becomes the practical ceiling for sustained loads.

How warm does the NEMA 14-50P plug get when the cord carries 50 A all day?

The plug and STW cable are rated for -40 °F to 140 °F ambient, and the IP44 rating confirms the assembly handles heat and splashes during extended outdoor use.
