14-sheet cross-cut capacity

The Viatek OS-1201C is a cross-cut paper shredder designed for home and office document disposal. It shreds up to 14 sheets of 20 lb paper per pass into 0.18" × 1.5" particles. The unit also destroys credit cards, CDs, staples, and paper clips without pre-sorting. A 6.6-gallon bin collects the waste.

Suits light daily use; not for high volume

This shredder suits users who need secure cross-cut destruction for occasional document batches. The 5-minute run time followed by a mandatory 30-minute cooling cycle limits throughput. Buyers who need continuous operation for large archive clearing should look at machines rated for longer duty cycles.

US patented cutter with anti-jam system

The cutting mechanism uses a US patented design paired with an intelligent anti-jam system. This combination is engineered to minimise paper jams and reduce mechanical wear. LED indicators display real-time operating status including overheating alerts.

Questions about this item

Does this shredder need any special bin bags to fit the 6.6-gallon bin?

Standard 6.6-gallon shredder bags fit the pull-out bin; the unit ships with the bin installed so no extra accessory is required to start shredding.

Will the cross-cut mechanism still handle staples and credit cards after I have used a strip-cut machine for years?

The US-patented cutter and anti-jam system are designed for staples, paper clips, credit cards and CDs without pre-removal, so mixed media feeds smoothly.

How can I confirm the shredder is running within its 5-minute continuous limit?

LED indicators show real-time status; if the motor reaches its thermal limit it stops automatically and begins a 30-minute cooling cycle.
