Rack-mount fan kit for 19" enclosures

This 3U fan kit mounts in standard 19-inch open-frame racks or rack enclosures. It occupies three rack units and adds active airflow to the cabinet. The steel chassis is finished in black. The unit is 5.25 inches high, 19 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep.

Includes rack screws for immediate installation

The package supplies the mounting screws needed to secure the kit to the rack rails. No additional hardware is required to attach the unit. The steel construction provides a rigid mounting platform for the three integrated fans. The kit adds no network ports or extra cabling.

Suits installers adding forced-air cooling

The kit fits any 19-inch rack with three contiguous rack units of free space. It is not suited for cabinets that lack 19-inch mounting rails or that cannot accommodate a 5.25-inch high aperture. Buyers needing a different height, a different fan count or integrated speed control should consider other options.

Questions about this item

How often will the three fans in this 3U kit need cleaning or replacement?

The steel-construction fans mount in a 5.25-inch high, 1.75-inch deep tray; dust buildup on the blades is the main maintenance item, so plan to vacuum or blow them out every six to twelve months depending on room air quality.

What is the first limit reached when the kit runs continuously in a fully populated 19-inch rack?

Airflow restriction from the 1.75-inch depth and the density of adjacent equipment typically becomes the bottleneck before the fans themselves reach their thermal or mechanical limits.

How much noise and heat does the three-fan assembly add when running all day in a 19-inch rack?

Three fans in a 3U, 5.25-inch high tray produce a noticeable but moderate airflow hum; the steel housing dissipates a small amount of heat, so rack temperatures rise slightly above ambient.
