Indoor analog dome camera

The VideoSecu DM10WMKC-N1 is a wired dome camera that connects to a traditional analog DVR through a BNC video cable. It uses a colour CCD sensor with a 3.6 mm wide-angle lens to deliver 420 TV lines of horizontal resolution. The package includes a 12 V DC power supply, a combined audio-video-power cable, a built-in microphone and a warning sticker.

For legacy DVR systems only

This camera suits installers who need a replacement indoor dome for an existing analog DVR that is roughly ten years old. It will not work with HD, IP, wireless or Wi-Fi recorders and it cannot operate as a standalone device. Buyers building a new system or expecting network connectivity should look at something else.

BNC analog video interface

The camera transmits standard-definition video over a single BNC coaxial connection and requires a compatible analog DVR, monitor and cabling that are not included. Without that legacy recorder the camera produces no usable output.

Questions about this item

Does the box include everything needed to connect the camera to a DVR, or must the BNC cable be purchased separately?

The package supplies the dome camera, a 12 V DC power supply, an audio-video-power cable and a microphone with a warning sticker, so no extra cable is required for a standard wired DVR hookup.

Should I choose this 420 TVL model or look for a higher-resolution analog camera for my existing DVR?

If your DVR records at 420 TVL or lower, this camera matches the recorder’s capability; a higher-TVL camera would not improve the recorded image on that system.

What does the 3.6 mm wide-angle lens mean for actual coverage when the camera is mounted on a ceiling?

The 3.6 mm lens gives roughly a 90-degree vertical and 360-degree horizontal adjustment range, providing broad room coverage from a single ceiling mount.
