Analog CCTV Camera for Legacy DVR Systems

This dome camera is an analog device that connects through a BNC video output and requires a traditional DVR recorder to function. It is intended for owners of existing standard-definition surveillance systems who need a direct replacement camera. Buyers building a new IP or HD-TVI installation cannot use this unit because it does not support digital or high-definition formats.

Simple Wired Installation with Included Power Supply

The camera ships with a 12 V DC 500 mA power supply and a combined video-power cable fitted with a 2.1 mm centre-positive plug. Mounting is possible on both wall and ceiling surfaces using the three-axis bracket that lets the installer aim the lens after the base is fixed. The only common issue is attempting to connect the BNC lead to a modern NVR or HD DVR, which will not recognise the analog signal.

600 TVL Resolution with 3.6 mm Wide-Angle Lens

A 1/3 inch Sony Effio CCD sensor delivers up to 600 TV lines of horizontal resolution in NTSC, providing usable detail for general overview monitoring. The fixed 3.6 mm lens gives a wide field of view suitable for room or entrance coverage, while the 0.002 lux minimum illumination and auto electronic shutter maintain an image in low light. The analog format limits recorded detail to standard definition, so facial recognition at distance is not practical.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the camera is producing a 600 TVL picture after connecting it to my DVR?

Connect the BNC video cable to an analog DVR and monitor, then verify the live view shows a clear colour image at the expected 600 TV lines resolution.

What comes in the box and what extra items are needed to operate the camera?

The package includes the dome camera, a 12 V DC 500 mA power supply, a video power cable with a 2.1 mm centre-positive plug, and a warning sticker; you must supply an analog DVR, monitor and any additional cabling.

Which lens option should I choose for a wide viewing angle?

This model has a fixed 3.6 mm wide-angle lens, so there is no alternative lens to select.
