The VideoSecu DMV23PMKC is a wired CCTV dome camera with a 1/3" Sony Effio CCD sensor delivering 700 TVL resolution. It uses a 3.5~8 mm varifocal lens and 17 infrared LEDs for night vision. The weatherproof white housing supports indoor or outdoor mounting and includes a built-in microphone.

Suits installers needing a varifocal analog dome

This camera fits existing analog DVR systems that accept BNC video and need adjustable focal length plus on-board audio capture. Buyers who want an IP network camera, wireless operation, or HD resolutions such as 960H or higher should look at something else.

BNC wiring with included power supply and cable

Installation requires running a coaxial video cable and the supplied DC 12 V power lead to the camera. The package provides the power supply, a combined audio-video-power cable, and a warning sticker. A compatible analog DVR is mandatory for recording; the camera cannot connect directly to a monitor or NVR.

Questions about this item

Do I need a DVR with BNC inputs to record footage from this camera?

Yes, this is an analog CCTV camera that outputs video over a wired BNC connection, so a compatible DVR with BNC video inputs is required for recording.

Will the 3.5~8 mm varifocal lens let me match the field of view of older fixed-lens cameras I am keeping?

The adjustable 3.5~8 mm lens allows you to set the viewing angle anywhere within that range, so you can closely match the coverage of existing fixed-lens cameras.

How can I verify the 700 TVL resolution and 17 IR LEDs are working after installation?

Check the DVR live view for a sharp 700 TVL picture in daylight; at night the image should switch to black-and-white and the 17 infrared illuminators will light the scene up to their rated distance.
