33ft 12V DC power extension for CCTV

This 33ft pigtail extension cable carries 12V DC power to CCTV cameras and DVRs that use a 2.1mm x 5.5mm barrel connector. It is intended for installers who need extra reach between a power adapter and a surveillance device. The cable arrives ready to plug in without tools or soldering.

Voltage drop beyond 20ft

From 20ft and up the resistance of the cable can cause a noticeable drop in voltage at the far end. The power adapter must be able to supply enough current to compensate for that loss over the full 33ft run. Installers should verify the camera’s minimum operating voltage before committing to the maximum length.

Simple barrel plug construction

The cable terminates in a standard 2.1mm inner by 5.5mm outer barrel plug that mates with matching sockets on cameras and DVRs. No locking mechanism is present, so the connection relies on friction alone. Routing should avoid sharp bends or tension that could pull the plug loose over time.

Questions about this item

Is the 33ft length the right choice or would a shorter cable work better?

The 33ft cable suits runs up to that distance; however, the supplier notes that from 20ft onward resistance and voltage drop may become noticeable, so a shorter run is preferable when possible.

What does the 12V DC rating mean for my camera setup?

It indicates the cable is designed for 12 V DC power adapters; you must ensure the adapter can deliver sufficient current over the full 33ft to avoid voltage drop at the camera.

Will the 2.1mm x 5.5mm barrel connector fit my DVR power port?

The cable uses a standard 2.1 mm inner by 5.5 mm outer diameter barrel plug, which matches most CCTV cameras and DVRs that specify that exact connector size.
