Transmits four composite video signals over a single Cat5 cable without external power
The VideoSecu VB413 transmits four composite video signals over a single CAT5 cable using unshielded twisted-pair wiring. It operates without external power and provides better EMI and RFI rejection than coaxial cable. Each channel includes a four-foot BNC extension cable for direct connection to cameras, DVRs or multiplexers. RJ45 and push-pin terminals offer flexible termination options.
Installers can consolidate four separate coax cables into one inexpensive UTP run while retaining baseband composite quality. The passive design eliminates the need for power supplies at the balun locations, reducing points of failure. The upgrade is worthwhile when existing twisted-pair infrastructure is available or when new cable pulls favour thinner, multi-service UTP over bulky coax bundles.
This unit fits projects that need four video channels over a single CAT5 link without active electronics. Builders who require longer runs than passive UTP supports, or who need IP-networked video rather than analogue composite, should look at active transceivers or network encoders instead.
