VideoSecu VD4090PMKC Wired Dome Camera

This wired dome camera delivers 420 TV lines of horizontal resolution through a 1/4 inch CCD sensor with colour DSP. It connects via BNC video output and is designed for indoor or outdoor surveillance installations. The package includes a power supply, audio-video cable and a built-in microphone for sound capture.

36 Infrared LEDs and 12 V Power Draw

Thirty-six infrared LEDs activate automatically in low light, providing night vision at 0 lux sensitivity with a switch to black-and-white imaging. The camera operates on DC 12 V at 500 mA using the included power supply. The weatherproof aluminium housing protects the electronics from rain and dust during continuous operation.

BNC Connection Requires External Recorder

The camera outputs analogue video over a BNC connector, so it must be paired with a compatible DVR and monitor to record or view footage. A varifocal 4-9 mm lens lets installers adjust the viewing angle and focus externally without opening the dome. Tri-axis mounting allows flexible positioning on walls or ceilings.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the dome and adjust the 4-9mm varifocal lens without taking it apart?

The tri-axis enclosure lets you aim the camera after mounting; then use the external screw gears to set the viewing angle and focus on the 4-9mm manual varifocal lens.

Which parts will need replacement first on the VD4090PMKC?

The included 12V DC 500mA power supply and the BNC video cable are the items most likely to need replacement after extended use.

What limits continuous night recording with the 36 IR LEDs?

The 36 infrared LEDs draw extra current from the 12V supply, so sustained night operation is limited by the 500mA rating of the included power adapter.
