Viking Components 1167613 paging adapter

SKU CH-FKE0-6K4Z8 MPN 1167613

Connects phone systems to paging amplifiers with selectable FXO, FXS or VOX modes and volume control

  • FXO, FXS or VOX modes suit different phone systems
  • FXS mode runs without external power supply
  • Up to six units share one adapter in FXO or VOX mode
  • Floating 600 ohm output with volume control for paging
  • CPC and busy-signal detection give immediate call disconnect

Universal Paging Interface

The Viking 1167613 adapter connects a telephone system to a paging amplifier. It supports FXO loop-start, FXS ring-trip and VOX relay modes for flexible integration. Installers can select the required interface with a simple switch. The unit mounts on a wall using the two supplied screws.

Power And Connection Limits

In FXO or VOX mode the adapter needs a 12-24V DC supply at 100mA or the included 120V AC/12V DC 500mA UL-listed adapter. FXS mode operates without any external power. Up to six units can share one power adapter in FXO or VOX configurations. Connections use screw terminal blocks for secure wiring.

Capacity And Disconnect Handling

The adapter provides a floating 600 ohm paging output with volume control and a relay for external amp activation. Pre-announce tone runs at 800 Hz and can be disabled. Disconnect is managed by calling-party control, busy-signal detection or a 2.5-5 second VOX silence timer. Default disconnect timers are 16 or 36 seconds. Operating range is 0-32C with 5-95% non-condensing humidity.

Questions about this item

Which interface mode should I select for my phone system — FXO, FXS or VOX?

Choose FXO for loop-start trunk ports, FXS for ring-trip extensions or VOX for voice-activated paging; FXS mode needs no external power supply.

What does the 30 V DC talk battery do in a real installation?

It supplies loop current so the adapter can seize an FXO trunk or unused line port and pass audio to the paging output.

How does the 600 ohm floating output affect my paging amplifier connection?

The balanced 600 ohm output with volume control feeds the amplifier directly, and the relay can switch the amp or mix in background music.
