Standalone DVD/CD duplicator copies one disc to another at up to 24× DVD-R and 40× CD-R with 64 MB buffer
The VinPower SHARK-S1T-BK copies discs without a host computer. It writes CD-R at 40X and CD-RW at 32X. DVD+R and dual-layer discs record at 12X while DVD-R reaches 24X. The 64M buffer helps sustain steady data flow during each session.
The unit runs from a SATA power connection inside a standard drive bay. No active cooling is described in the specifications. Typical DVD/CD drives draw modest power and generate low noise during read or write cycles. The 20 x 2 LCD stays lit while the duplicator is active.
A single 5.25-inch bay accepts the 8.50" x 7.00" x 12.00" chassis. Only a SATA data and power cable are required. The standalone controller frees the host system for other tasks. Supported media include DVD-ROM, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, CD-DA, mixed-mode and mini discs. Buyers who need simultaneous multi-target copying or robotic loading will need a different class of duplicator.

Other versions of this model
Connect the SATA cable to the source drive, power the unit on, and insert blank media before pressing copy; the step often missed is waiting for the 20 x 2 LCD to show "Ready" before starting.
The laser pickup lens will need periodic cleaning with a standard lens-cleaning disc; the 64M buffer and SATA mechanics have no user-serviceable parts.
The 64M buffer fills first during sustained high-speed DVD-R 24X or CD-R 40X burns, forcing the drive to pause and wait for data.
