VinPower SHARK-S5T-BK 1-to-5 DVD/CD duplicator 320GB

VinPower 1-to-5 DVD/CD duplicator with 320GB drive

The VinPower SHARK-S5T-BK is a standalone tower duplicator that copies one master disc to five target drives without a computer. It supports DVD-ROM, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, CD-ROM, CD-DA and many other formats. A 128MB buffer helps sustain throughput during long runs. The built-in 320GB hard drive stores images for repeat jobs. Operators control the unit through a 20 x 2 LCD and multilingual menus.

Practical limits of the SATA interface

Each target drive connects over SATA, so the duplicator's peak write rates are bound by the media specifications rather than the bus. DVD-R reaches 24X, DVD+R and DVD+R DL reach 12X, DVD-R DL reaches 12X, DVD+RW reaches 8X and DVD-RW reaches 6X. CD-R writes at 40X and CD-RW at 32X. Actual throughput will vary with disc quality and the number of simultaneous targets. The unit also converts automatically between DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW formats during copying.

Check your disc supply and workspace before ordering

You need blank media that matches the speeds above to achieve the rated performance; slower discs will reduce the effective rate. The tower measures 15.00" high, 7.50" wide and 21.00" deep, so confirm bench space and ventilation. The duplicator operates standalone, so no host PC or software installation is required. Ensure the power source matches the unit's regional specification and that you have enough discs for the intended batch size. Buyers who need to duplicate to more than five targets at once or who require Blu-ray support should look elsewhere.
