52mm Telephoto Lens Kit

The Vivitar 52mm 2.2x Telephoto Lens Kit attaches to any Nikon DSLR lens with a 52mm filter thread and multiplies its focal length by 2.2 times. It is aimed at photographers who want extra reach for distant subjects such as wildlife, sports or landscapes without buying a dedicated telephoto lens. The kit also supplies a lens pen, air blower, 100 lens tissues and a three-piece cleaning set with swabs, fluid and cloth.

Steel Barrel and 62mm Filter Thread

The attachment uses a steel barrel construction that accepts 62mm filters on its front, so circular polarisers or neutral-density filters can be added for creative control. A lens-cap holder is included to keep the front cap secure while shooting. The package does not contain a camera body or a host lens; buyers who need a 52mm-threaded prime or zoom must already own one.

2.2x Optical Multiplier Limit

The 2.2x magnification narrows the angle of view and reduces the effective maximum aperture of the host lens, so shutter speeds become slower and low-light performance drops. Vignetting or softness at the frame edges may appear with some host lenses. The adapter only fits 52mm filter threads; cameras or lenses with different thread sizes cannot use it.
