Shallow 22″ clamp-on drawer

The VIVO 22″ shallow clamp-on pull-out drawer adds low-profile storage beneath a desk. It suits home-office workers who want pens, notebooks and small devices kept out of sight without drilling holes. The steel unit clamps to tops up to 1.08″ thick and extends 7.9″ for quick access.

Behaviour under sustained load

The drawer weighs 6.5 lbs empty and is rated for 11 lbs of contents, so the desk must bear 17.5 lbs total. Steel construction and a quiet sliding track keep motion smooth even when the drawer is fully loaded day after day. The 1.9″ internal height limits contents to slim items such as paper and keyboards.

Practical limits of the clamp interface

Maximum desktop thickness is 1.08″; thinner tops increase the gap between drawer and desktop. Overall width is 23″ (28.2″ including clamps), depth 9.1″ and height 3.5″, with a 22″ × 8.8″ usable interior. No tools are required beyond the supplied C-clamps.

Questions about this item

How much noise does the sliding track make when the drawer is opened and closed repeatedly during a full workday?

The track is designed for quiet, smooth gliding motion and operates silently during repeated use.

What desk thickness and material are required for the C-clamps to grip securely?

The clamps fit desks up to 1.08 inches thick; the desktop must also support at least 17.5 lbs total weight.

Will a standard full-size keyboard fit inside the 22-inch-long by 8.8-inch-deep interior when the drawer is closed?

The interior depth is 8.8 inches, so most full-size keyboards will not fit flat; only compact or tenkeyless models will close properly.
