Broadcast microphone kit

The Voice Technologies VT500ECO is an omnidirectional lavalier kit built for broadcast, theatre and film professionals who need reliable voice capture. It connects to Shure wireless transmitters through a TA4F connector and ships with a windscreen and alligator clip in a compact box. The economy version keeps the same capsule design as the standard VT500 for natural voice reproduction.

Low self-noise and RF protection

An electret condenser element delivers clear audio while the capsule’s RF shielding guards against wireless interference in busy venues. Self-noise is rated at 26 dB A-weighted, keeping background hiss low during quiet passages. A flexible cable isolates the capsule from clothing rub and handling sounds.

Rugged construction for sustained use

Injection-moulded housing makes the microphone shockproof so it survives repeated drops and stage impacts without degrading performance. The fixed omnidirectional pattern maintains consistent pickup even when the wearer turns away from the capsule. RF protection and cable isolation remain effective throughout long recording sessions.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the VT500ECO to my Shure transmitter?

Plug the TA4F connector into the transmitter input until it locks; route the flexible cable under clothing to avoid rubbing noise.

What parts of the VT500ECO kit will need replacement over time?

The foam windscreen and alligator clip are the wear items; the moulded capsule and RF-shielded electronics are built to last.

At what noise floor does the VT500ECO hit its limit in a quiet room?

Self-noise is 26 dB A-weighted, so sustained silent passages will reveal that floor first.
