16-inch cash drawer for POS systems

The Volcora CD-5B-R is a heavy-gauge steel cash drawer built for commercial point-of-sale environments. It measures 16 by 16 by 4 inches, rising to 5 inches with the included rubber legs. A white matte powder-coated finish gives it a clean professional appearance on the counter. The unit ships new and ready for integration.

Replaces lighter-duty drawers lacking full tray

This model suits businesses upgrading from fixed-tray drawers that slow end-of-shift counting. The two-tier tray system lets staff lift the bill tray and coin compartment independently, speeding reconciliation without emptying the whole drawer. Two media slots add space for cheques or large notes. The jump is worth it when daily cash volume demands faster, more secure handling.

Printer-driven install with three-position lock

Connection uses the supplied RJ11 or RJ12 cable to a receipt printer or POS terminal, so the drawer opens automatically on transaction completion. A three-position key lock offers manual open, auto open and locked modes; four keys are included. Common issues include mismatched printer pin-outs preventing the kick signal and lost keys leaving the drawer stuck in one mode.
