This 10 inch Y splitter connects two case fans to one motherboard 4-pin header. It suits builders adding a second fan without using another header. The cable carries a single PWM signal so both fans run at identical speeds.

Compatibility check

Verify that your motherboard header supplies a PWM signal; not all 4-pin headers enable modulation by default. Three-pin fans attached to this cable will run at full speed with no speed control. Only the fan on the 4-pin leg reports RPM to the motherboard.

Sustained-load behaviour

Under continuous operation the splitter simply passes the motherboard's PWM duty cycle to both fans. Fan speeds stay locked together and follow the same curve set in software such as AI Suite or similar utilities. No active electronics are present to alter the signal over time.
