This 18AWG Molex 4-pin LP4 splitter converts a single male connector into two female ports. It is built for PC builders who need to add extra drives, fans or other peripherals from one power supply lead. The eight-inch length keeps cable runs short inside compact cases. It supports standard 5V and 12V DC devices.

Thermals and Power Draw

The 18AWG copper conductors are rated for the current drawn by typical Molex peripherals such as hard drives and cooling fans. Under normal operation the cable runs cool and adds no audible noise to the system. Voltage drop across the eight-inch span remains negligible for 5V and 12V DC loads. No active cooling or special airflow is required.

Sustained Load Behaviour

During continuous operation the copper wires maintain stable delivery to both female connectors simultaneously. The splitter handles the combined draw of two devices without overheating or connector melt. It is not suited for high-current applications beyond standard Molex specifications such as multi-GPU power or server backplanes. Builders needing more than two outputs should use a dedicated power distribution board.
