20-pin to 24-pin ATX adapter cable

This new Vszerda cable converts a 20-pin power-supply connector to a 24-pin motherboard socket. It lets you use an older PSU with a newer ATX board without replacing the power supply. The straight-through wiring carries all standard signals between the two connectors.

For builders mating legacy 20-pin units to 24-pin

Suits anyone upgrading a motherboard while keeping an existing 20-pin power supply. Not for systems that need the extra four pins for additional current capacity. Not for setups requiring a native 24-pin source.

Questions about this item

Will the 20-pin connector reach my motherboard's 24-pin socket without strain?

The cable bridges a 20-pin PSU plug to a 24-pin motherboard header, so the length must span the gap between your power supply and the board's ATX power socket.

Which way round do I plug the 20-pin and 24-pin ends during installation?

Match the 20-pin side to your power supply's 20-pin output and the 24-pin side to the motherboard's 24-pin input; the keyed connectors prevent reversed insertion.
