Adds four USB 3.0 ports via a PCIe x1 slot, delivering 5 Gbps total bandwidth and 2 A per port without extra power cables
This Vszerda expansion card adds four USB-A 3.0 ports to a desktop computer through a single PCI Express x1 lane. The board uses a NEC 720201 chipset and draws all required power from the slot itself, so no extra cables from the power supply are needed. Each port can deliver up to 2 A for high-draw peripherals such as external drives or charging stations. The card fits any x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot.
The card works plug-and-play on Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8 and Server 2012 through 2019, all in 32-bit and 64-bit editions. Windows 7, Vista and XP require the driver supplied on the included mini-CD. Most Linux kernels also support the device without extra steps. Mac OS is explicitly not supported, so owners of Apple desktops must choose a different adapter. Builders who need internal headers instead of rear brackets should also look elsewhere.
The NEC 720201 controller provides a single 5 Gbps USB 3.0 link that is divided among the four ports. This is sufficient for keyboards, mice, printers, flash drives and similar accessories, but it will bottleneck multiple high-speed SSDs or capture devices running simultaneously. If your workflow demands dedicated 5 Gbps lanes per port, a multi-controller or PCIe x4 card is required.
