50ft DisplayPort 1.4 optical cable

This 50ft DisplayPort 1.4 optical fiber cable carries 8K 7680x4320 video at 60Hz or 4K at 144Hz with 32.4Gbps bandwidth. It is built for users who need long-distance, lossless transmission between a GPU such as an RTX 3070 or 3080 and a high-resolution display. The directional fiber design requires correct source-to-sink orientation during installation.

Thermals noise and power draw

Optical fiber construction eliminates electromagnetic interference and copper heating, so the cable runs completely silent and adds no thermal load to the system. Power for the active converters is drawn from the DisplayPort connectors themselves, requiring no external adapter or additional cabling. The 24K gold-plated contacts maintain low-resistance connections over repeated mating cycles.

Directional single-link 8K at 60Hz limit

The cable supports a single 8K 60Hz or 4K 144Hz stream and cannot carry dual-link or higher-refresh 8K signals. Buyers who need 8K above 60Hz, DisplayPort 2.0 bandwidth, or bidirectional flexibility should verify their source and sink capabilities before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 50ft DisplayPort 1.4 optical fiber cable correctly?

Connect the marked source end to the GPU and the display end to the monitor; the cable is directional and will not pass a signal if reversed.

What maintenance or replacement will the 24K gold-plated connectors need over time?

The gold plating resists corrosion; no routine maintenance is required unless physical damage occurs, in which case the cable must be replaced.

At what bandwidth limit does the 32.4Gbps link become the bottleneck during sustained 8K 60Hz use?

The 32.4Gbps maximum bandwidth of the DisplayPort 1.4 link is reached at 8K 7680x4320 60Hz, so that resolution and refresh rate is the first limit encountered.
