Converts a 20-pin ATX PSU for use with a 24-pin motherboard using 18AWG copper conductors and a 6-inch cable length
This adapter cable converts a standard 20-pin ATX power supply for use with a motherboard requiring a 24-pin ATX connector. It features an 18AWG tinned copper conductor and measures six inches in length. The cable carries 3.3, 5 and 12V DC lines between the PSU and the motherboard.
The 18AWG copper conductors are rated for the standard ATX voltage rails of 3.3, 5 and 12V DC. Under continuous operation the adapter simply passes through the power supplied by the PSU without active regulation. Reliability therefore depends on the quality and capacity of the original 20-pin power supply itself.
Connection is straightforward: plug the 20-pin female end into the PSU and the 24-pin male end into the motherboard socket. The short six-inch length limits routing flexibility inside larger cases. Builders needing to bridge a greater distance between the PSU and the motherboard will find the cable too short.

The adapter uses 18AWG tinned copper wire rated for the standard 3.3, 5 and 12V DC rails, so it can carry the motherboard's full ATX power draw without excess heat buildup.
Yes, the adapter plugs into a standard 20-pin ATX PSU female socket, so your existing supply must provide that 20-pin connector.
The adapter converts a 20-pin PSU to a 24-pin motherboard socket; it is not designed to feed a 20-pin motherboard, so the additional four pins would remain unused in that scenario.
