Connect 8K and 4K displays

The Vszerda CD0718 adapter converts a USB-C port into a DisplayPort 1.4 output. It supports 8K resolution at 30 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz with HDR. The aluminium grey dongle suits professionals and gamers who need high-refresh visuals from laptops or tablets.

Passive thermal performance

The all-metal housing acts as a heatsink during sustained 40 Gbps throughput. No fan is present, so operation stays silent in normal use. Power draw remains within the host port specification without an external supply.

Thunderbolt 3/4 readiness

Thunderbolt 3 and 4 host support unlocks the full 40 Gbps bandwidth for compatible docks and headsets. The adapter works with MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, Surface Book 2 and similar USB-C devices. No driver installation is required on supported operating systems.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the Vszerda CD0718 to my Thunderbolt port and which end goes where?

Plug the USB-C end into your Thunderbolt 3 or 4 port, then connect a DisplayPort cable from the adapter to the monitor; the step people miss is confirming the host port actually carries DisplayPort Alt Mode.

Will the aluminium housing or the USB-C connector wear out and need replacement?

The aluminium shell is passive and has no moving parts, so it does not wear out; only the USB-C plug faces insertion cycles and should last for thousands of connections.

At what point does sustained 8K output hit a bandwidth ceiling on this adapter?

The 40 Gbps Thunderbolt link caps 8K at 30 Hz; pushing higher refresh rates would exceed the available bandwidth.
