SFF-8643 to four SFF-8483 fan-out cable

This 1.6 ft adapter connects a single Mini SAS SFF-8643 host port on a controller or motherboard to four 29-pin SFF-8483 targets. It is built for internal use in servers or workstations that need to break out one x4 link into four individual SAS or SATA drive connections. A 15-pin power port is included on the cable assembly.

Thermals noise and power draw

The cable itself is passive and adds no active cooling requirement or audible noise to the system. Power for the attached drives is supplied through the 15-pin connector, so the host controller does not need to provide drive power over the SFF-8643 link.
