8K 60Hz DisplayPort 1.4 cable

This 6.6 ft DisplayPort 1.4 cable carries video up to 7680x4320 at 60 Hz and 3840x2160 at 120 Hz. It uses 28 AWG tinned copper conductors with 24K gold-plated connectors and a nylon-braided jacket. The cable suits gamers, streamers and workstation users who need high-resolution, high-refresh links between a PC or laptop and a monitor, projector or TV.

Upgrade from older DP cables

Replacing a DisplayPort 1.2 or earlier cable removes the 4K 60 Hz ceiling and enables 8K 60 Hz or 4K 120 Hz output. The jump is worth it when your graphics card and display both support DP 1.4 and you want 2560x1440 at 165 Hz or 1920x1080 at 144 Hz without compression or signal drop-outs.

Check your ports and resolution targets

Verify that both source and sink have full-size DisplayPort 1.4 sockets and that your GPU driver exposes the 8K 60 Hz or 4K 120 Hz modes you intend to use. The cable is male-to-male only, so it cannot connect to Mini DisplayPort or USB-C alt-mode ports without a separate adapter.

Questions about this item

What connector size and cable length does this 6.6ft DisplayPort 1.4 cable need to fit my monitor and GPU ports?

The cable uses standard full-size DisplayPort male connectors on both ends and measures 6.6ft end-to-end, so it fits any DP 1.4 port on a graphics card, laptop, monitor or projector without adapters.

How do I install this braided DP 1.4 cable correctly, and what common mistake should I avoid?

Align the connector’s wide flat side with the port, push straight in until the latch clicks, and never use an extension cord — the supplier warns that extensions degrade the 8K@60Hz signal.

When will the 24K gold-plated connectors or 28 AWG tinned copper conductors need replacement?

The gold plating resists oxidation and the tinned copper resists corrosion, so under normal indoor use the cable itself does not have a scheduled replacement interval; only physical damage would require a new cable.
