Connects a DisplayPort source to a VGA display up to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz with a secure latched connector
This six-foot cable joins a DisplayPort source to a VGA display without an external adapter. The male-to-male design suits desktops, laptops and graphics cards that need a permanent connection to a projector, monitor or TV. Plug-and-play operation means no driver installation is required.
A built-in IC chip converts the DisplayPort signal to VGA only; the cable cannot carry a signal from a VGA source to a DisplayPort screen. Audio is not transmitted, so a separate audio path is needed for sound. The latch-equipped DisplayPort plug secures the connection and must be released by pressing the button before unplugging.
The link supports 1920x1080 at 60 Hz together with 1600x1200, 1280x1024 and 720p for standard office and presentation use. Higher refresh rates, 1440p, 4K or HDR content are beyond the cable’s capability. Buyers needing resolutions above 1080p or audio over the same wire should choose a different interface.

No, the specification lists audio support as No; VGA carries video only, so sound must be routed separately.
