External Power Switch for Desktop PCs

This Vszerda external power switch adds a remote ON/OFF button with a 1.7 metre cable. It connects to the motherboard's POWER SW, POWER LED+ and POWER LED- headers. The adhesive backing lets you mount the button wherever the original case switch is hard to reach.

Capacity and headroom

The 1.7 metre cable provides enough length to route the switch from a rear expansion slot, optical-drive bay or fan window to a convenient spot on the desk. It handles standard ATX front-panel signalling and includes a 1-to-2 splitter so the original case button remains functional. The adhesive mount is not suited to surfaces that reject stickers.

Installation and compatibility

The switch uses the standard two-pin power-switch and three-pin LED pinout found on most desktop motherboards. No driver or BIOS change is required; the board simply parallels the existing front-panel header. Builders whose motherboards use a proprietary front-panel connector cannot use this part.
